This stamp set is perfect for little dancers. My daughter absolutely loves dancing, so I can see myself using this a lot in the future! I started by stamping the three little girls onto some Archers Cold Press watercolor paper with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink. I then watercolored the images with a combonation of Prima watercolors and Gansai Tambi watercolors.

1.jpg

Once the paint was dry I added details to the image with Prisnacolor pencils. I also used a white gel pen to add dots to the dress on the girl in the center. I thought the yellow dress could use some sparkle, so I took a gold paint marker and added some dots to the tu-tu and the frill on the front.

I picked one of the sentiments from the set and stamped it on the painting with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then popped the panel up onto a plum colored card base with foam tape and added a few sequins.

For my card I used the Healing Hugs stamp set. I stamped the floral from the set onto a panel of Cornflower blue cardstock with Gina K’s In the Navy ink. I then colored that in with Prismacolor pencils.

4.jpg

Using the same floral stamp I stamped around the edge of the panel using Versamark ink. I picked out the “Get Well Soon” sentiment which fits perfectly inside the floral wreath. I stamped that with the In the Navy ink and then I stamped it again right on top with Versamark ink. This way I was able to emboss over that sentiment with a clear embossing powder.

2.jpg

I dragged my Versamark ink pad along the edges of the panel and then embossed that with silver embossing powder. I blended some white ink onto the center of the card and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink along the edges. Using a clean cloth I wiped away any of that ink that was on the embossed areas.

5.jpg

I popped up that panel onto a 6x6 card base made out of In the Navy cardstock. Next I used a white gel pen to add a small amount of highlights to the flowers. I also took that pen and added little dots in different sizes around the wreath.

3.jpg

To finish up the card I used Nuvo Crystal Glaze on the centers of all the flowers to add some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by with me! I hope you have a blast this Stamptember. Happy crafting!

Simple Watercolor Card - STAMPtember Release

Today I made a card using the Festive Trees stamp set from Simon Says Stamp’s STAMPtember Release.

4.jpg

I started out with a piece of Canson watercolor paper. I stamped the tree made out of triangles from the stamp set three times across the paper using my MISTI tool and Versamark ink. I embossed them with a gold embossing powder.

2.jpg

I taped the Canson panel onto a board so that I could watercolor it with minimal warping. I used my Arteza Real Brush Pens to do the watercoloring. I used the colors Pale Green, Fresh Green, and Forest Green. I did a messy watercolor look across the page and darkened the areas where the trees are. I used my ATG gun to adhere my watercolored panel onto a Neenah Desert Storm card base.

1.jpg

I stamped a sentiment onto some Gina K Tranquil Teal card stock with Versamark ink. I embossed it with the same gold embossing powder that I used on the background. I popped up my sentiment strip onto the card with some foam tape. The sentiment says “Wishing you joy at Christmas.”

3.jpg

To finish up the card I added a few white and clear sequins using Gina K Connect glue. I also went over the sentiment strip with a Wink of Stella glitter brush.

Colorful Watercolor Background - Birthday Numbers Stamp Set

For today’s card I made a really colorful background using the Birthday Numbers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp’s STAMPtember release.

5.jpg

I started out by stamping a bunch of the images from the Birthday Numbers stamp set onto a piece of Canson watercolor paper with Versamark ink. I embossed these images with a white embossing powder. I taped down this paper to a board. I painted over the images with my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I used color numbers 63, 38, and 37. The embossing resists the paint so the images are nice and clear.

7.jpg

Next I colored in the images with my Prismacolor pencils to make them stand out a little more against the background. I went over each of the images with my white pencil first and then added the colors. I only used two colors, PC932 and PC903. I used my white gel pen to add dots randomly all over the background and also added some highlights to the images. I went over the stars with Wink of Stella glitter.

8.jpg

For the sentiment I stamped the “happy birthday” stamp onto a piece of Bazzill Licorice Twist card stock with Versamark ink. I embossed it with a white embossing powder and cut it down to a strip.

6.jpg

I popped up my watercolor background onto a card base covered in Licorice Twist card stock. Then I popped up the sentiment on the background.

Coloring on Dark Card Stock - SSS Beautiful Flowers 2

For today’s card I used two of the products from the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember release. I used the Beautiful Flowers 2 stamp set and the Plank background cling.

1.jpg

I started out by stamping two of the floral images from the stamp set onto a piece of Gina K Plum Punch card stock with Versamark ink. I heat embossed them with a white embossing powder.

3.jpg

I colored the flowers in using my Prismacolor pencils. For the yellow portions I first went over the petals with my white pencil. I then used the colors PC940, PC916, and PC1002. For the centers of the flowers I used PC1028. The stems and leaves were colored with PC912 and PC1006. I fussy cut the flowers out with some scissors.

4.jpg

For the background I used the Simon Says Stamp Plank background cling. I stamped it with Versamark ink onto a piece of Gina K Plum Punch card stock and embossed it with a clear embossing powder. I then popped up the flowers onto the background with foam tape.

2.jpg

For the sentiment I took the stamp which says “Thanks” and stamped it onto Gina K Slate card stock with Versamark ink. I embossed it with white embossing powder. Next I used Gina K Connect glue to adhere the sentiment to some vellum and I cut the vellum down leaving a border around the sentiment strip. I popped that up in the card. To finish up the card I randomly went over some of the planks on the background with my Wink of Stella glitter brush.
