Simple Watercolor Card - STAMPtember Release

Today I made a card using the Festive Trees stamp set from Simon Says Stamp’s STAMPtember Release.

4.jpg

I started out with a piece of Canson watercolor paper. I stamped the tree made out of triangles from the stamp set three times across the paper using my MISTI tool and Versamark ink. I embossed them with a gold embossing powder.

2.jpg

I taped the Canson panel onto a board so that I could watercolor it with minimal warping. I used my Arteza Real Brush Pens to do the watercoloring. I used the colors Pale Green, Fresh Green, and Forest Green. I did a messy watercolor look across the page and darkened the areas where the trees are. I used my ATG gun to adhere my watercolored panel onto a Neenah Desert Storm card base.

I stamped a sentiment onto some Gina K Tranquil Teal card stock with Versamark ink. I embossed it with the same gold embossing powder that I used on the background. I popped up my sentiment strip onto the card with some foam tape. The sentiment says “Wishing you joy at Christmas.”

To finish up the card I added a few white and clear sequins using Gina K Connect glue. I also went over the sentiment strip with a Wink of Stella glitter brush.

Colorful Watercolor Background - Birthday Numbers Stamp Set

For today’s card I made a really colorful background using the Birthday Numbers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp’s STAMPtember release.

5.jpg

I started out by stamping a bunch of the images from the Birthday Numbers stamp set onto a piece of Canson watercolor paper with Versamark ink. I embossed these images with a white embossing powder. I taped down this paper to a board. I painted over the images with my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I used color numbers 63, 38, and 37. The embossing resists the paint so the images are nice and clear.

7.jpg

Next I colored in the images with my Prismacolor pencils to make them stand out a little more against the background. I went over each of the images with my white pencil first and then added the colors. I only used two colors, PC932 and PC903. I used my white gel pen to add dots randomly all over the background and also added some highlights to the images. I went over the stars with Wink of Stella glitter.

8.jpg

For the sentiment I stamped the “happy birthday” stamp onto a piece of Bazzill Licorice Twist card stock with Versamark ink. I embossed it with a white embossing powder and cut it down to a strip.

I popped up my watercolor background onto a card base covered in Licorice Twist card stock. Then I popped up the sentiment on the background.

Coloring on Dark Card Stock - SSS Beautiful Flowers 2

For today’s card I used two of the products from the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember release. I used the Beautiful Flowers 2 stamp set and the Plank background cling.

1.jpg

I started out by stamping two of the floral images from the stamp set onto a piece of Gina K Plum Punch card stock with Versamark ink. I heat embossed them with a white embossing powder.

3.jpg

I colored the flowers in using my Prismacolor pencils. For the yellow portions I first went over the petals with my white pencil. I then used the colors PC940, PC916, and PC1002. For the centers of the flowers I used PC1028. The stems and leaves were colored with PC912 and PC1006. I fussy cut the flowers out with some scissors.

4.jpg

For the background I used the Simon Says Stamp Plank background cling. I stamped it with Versamark ink onto a piece of Gina K Plum Punch card stock and embossed it with a clear embossing powder. I then popped up the flowers onto the background with foam tape.

2.jpg

For the sentiment I took the stamp which says “Thanks” and stamped it onto Gina K Slate card stock with Versamark ink. I embossed it with white embossing powder. Next I used Gina K Connect glue to adhere the sentiment to some vellum and I cut the vellum down leaving a border around the sentiment strip. I popped that up in the card. To finish up the card I randomly went over some of the planks on the background with my Wink of Stella glitter brush.

No-line watercolor with Beautiful Flowers 2 - STAMPtember Release

For today’s card I used the Beautiful Flowers 2 stamp set from Simon Says Stamp’s STAMPtember release.

3.jpg

I started out by stamping the large floral stamp from the set onto a piece of Canson watercolor paper using Antique Linen Distress Ink. I chose this ink because I am going to be doing some no-line watercolor.

4.jpg

I am decided to use Arteza Real Brush Pens to do the watercoloring. I scribbled the colors that I used onto a palette and picked up the color with a paintbrush to paint with. Check out the video to see the coloring in detail!

1.jpg

I used my Tonic trimmer to cut the watercolor piece to 8.75 x 3.5. I made a 9.25 x 4 card base out of Neenah Desert Storm card stock. I made the card this size so that it would fit the large stamp on it and still fit in a standard business envelope. I popped the watercolor piece onto the card base with foam tape.

2.jpg

For the sentiment I took the stamp which says “Thanks” from the same stamp set. I stamped it onto some Gina K Slate card stock with Versamark ink using my MISTI tool. I then heat embossed it with a white embossing powder. I cut the sentiment down to a strip and popped it up on my card. To finish up the card I added some clear sequins with my Gina K connect glue.

For the card I am showing you today I used the Ornate Ornaments stamp set. I started out by stamping three of the ornaments onto some Canson watercolor paper with Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed them using a gold embossing powder. After that I taped the paper to a board for painting.

7.jpg

I painted the three ornaments using my Gansai Tambi watercolor set. For the ornaments I used color numbers 32, 35, and 906. The 906 is a metallic white gold color and made the ornaments really shimmer. For the background I used the color number 51, 52, and 56. You can check out my Gansai Tambi color chart to get a better idea of the colors used.

5.jpg

Once the paint was completely dry I removed it from the board. Using a Copic multi-liner and a T-Square ruler I added strings and bows to each ornament. I then placed the paper into my MISTI tool to stamp a sentiment. I picked two stamped from the Ornate Ornaments stamp set and stamped them using Simon Says Stamp intense black ink. Once stamped the two stamps read "Wishing you joy." I then pulled out a card base and adhered a piece of red cardstock to the front of it. I took my painted piece and popped it up on that using foam tape.

8.jpg

For the finishing touches on this card I took my white gel pen and added highlights to the ornaments as well as dots throughout the green background. I also added some white sequins and green half pearls using my Tombow glue. Finally I went over the star shaped ornament with my Wink of Stella glitter brush.
