Embossing on Patterned Paper | SSS July 2019 Card Kit

Hey friends! Have you seen the Simon Says Stamp July card kit? I am in love. I especially love that gorgeous patterned paper from Honey Bee Stamps! Today I wanted to share with y’all what I made using this kit.

8.jpg

I started by stamping the honeycomb shapes from the stamp set onto one of the piece of patterned paper with Versamark ink. I embossed that with rose gold embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp. I then took that same embossing powder and embossed the heart shaped bee trail from the set onto some vellum.

For my sentiment I decided to emboss a stamp one Gina K Designs In The Navy cardstock with Alabaster white embossing powder. I cut the sentiment into a strip and I fussy cut out my vellum heart. I popped up the sentiment onto the heart with foam tape and then glued the whole thing to my background.

I mounted the background panel onto a piece of vellum and then popped up that entire thing onto an A2 size card base. To add some interest to the card I used Glossy Accents and added some dots to some of the honeycomb spots in the background. I sprinkled Unicorn Dust glitter over the card and it stuck to anywhere where I had that Glossy Accents.

For the finishing touches I first went over the sentiment with Wink of Stella glitter. I then added a heart sticker to the sentiment and some Moonshine sequins to the background.

Hexagon Element Honeycomb | Simon's New Rest & Refresh Release

Hey guys! Today I have a card featuring the new Hexagon Element die from Simon’s Rest and Refresh release.

1.jpg

First I taped a piece of Canson Watercolor paper to a board. I painted a really organic background using some Prima watercolors. I trimmed the background to 4x5.25 and popped it up on an A2 card base.

3.jpg

I die cut the Hexagon Element shape three times out of Neenah cardstock and adhered them together to make a dimensional piece. I then glued that piece to my card. To give the look of a honeycomb I filled each of the hexagons with Glossy Accents.

2.jpg

For the sentiment I first die cut the word “honey” using the Archie Jr alphabet die set from Simon Says Stamp out of slate cardstock. For the second part of the sentiment I used the Tiny Words die set and stamp the sentiment with Gina K’s Jet Black Amalgam ink on Neenah cardstock. I glued the letters with Gina K Connect Glue and the smaller sentiment with foam tape.

4.jpg

Next I went over the letters with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents. I also went over the sentiment strip with Wink of Stella.

5.jpg

To finish up the card I added some sequins from the Heaven Sent sequin mix from Lucy’s Cards.

January Countdown to Confetti Day Three | Reverse Confetti

Hello friends! Today is the last day of the Reverse Confetti Countdown to Confetti which means tomorrow is release day!!!

Today’s sneak peek product:

Happy Bee Day

172.jpg

I created three cards using that same basic design but with different colors and sentiments.

1.jpg

I started by creating the background panels. I made one with kraft cardstock, one with white, and one with light gray.

2.jpg

I used some of the stamps from the set to create a pattern on the panel using gray ink. For efficiency, I stamped all three background at the same time.

3.jpg

Next I stamped the rest of the images I would be using on Bristol Smooth paper with black ink. I colored them in with watercolor markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies.

4.jpg

I picked out the different sentiments for each of the cards. I stamped them with embossing ink on white cardstock and embossed with a gold embossing powder. I cut each of them down into strips.

5.jpg

To assemble the cards I first glued the backgrounds to card bases. I used white card bases for two of them but I decided to use a dark gray cardstock for the base with the white background panel. I adhered most of the colored in images with liquid glue. I decided to pop up the honey pots with foam tape to create some dimension.

6.jpg

I used some Copic markers to add a drop shadow underneath the honey pot scene. I then popped up the sentiment strips on the cards with foam tape.

7.jpg

To finish up the cards I added some sequins with liquid glue.
