Distress Oxide Ink on Black Cardstock | Simple Birthday Card

Hello my friends! Today I am sharing a very simple birthday card featuring some Distress Oxide ink blending on black cardstock.

I started with a panel of Bazzill Licorice Twist cardstock and masked off a small section on the bottom. I then blended over that section with some Distress Oxide ink.

After that I continued using masking and different colors of Distress Oxide ink to create rays of color which all start in the bottom left hand corner. The colors that I used are Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, and Seedless Preserves.

I cut the panel down to 3.75 x 5 and then picked out a sentiment from the Big Birthday Greetings stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped it with Versamark ink and embossed it with Alabaster white embossing powder.

Next I took out the Wish Upon a Star stamp set from Mama Elephant. I used all of the little star stamps from this set to stamp the background with Versamark ink. I then embossed them with Rainbow Sparkle embossing powder.

I added dashed lines around the border of the panel with a white gel pen. I then popped the panel up onto a back card base with foam tape.

Embossing on Patterned Paper | SSS July 2019 Card Kit

Hey friends! Have you seen the Simon Says Stamp July card kit? I am in love. I especially love that gorgeous patterned paper from Honey Bee Stamps! Today I wanted to share with y’all what I made using this kit.

I started by stamping the honeycomb shapes from the stamp set onto one of the piece of patterned paper with Versamark ink. I embossed that with rose gold embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp. I then took that same embossing powder and embossed the heart shaped bee trail from the set onto some vellum.

For my sentiment I decided to emboss a stamp one Gina K Designs In The Navy cardstock with Alabaster white embossing powder. I cut the sentiment into a strip and I fussy cut out my vellum heart. I popped up the sentiment onto the heart with foam tape and then glued the whole thing to my background.

I mounted the background panel onto a piece of vellum and then popped up that entire thing onto an A2 size card base. To add some interest to the card I used Glossy Accents and added some dots to some of the honeycomb spots in the background. I sprinkled Unicorn Dust glitter over the card and it stuck to anywhere where I had that Glossy Accents.

For the finishing touches I first went over the sentiment with Wink of Stella glitter. I then added a heart sticker to the sentiment and some Moonshine sequins to the background.

A Sassy Birthday Card | Embossing with a Stencil

Hey guys! Today I am sharing a sassy birthday card using the Big Birthday Greetings stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. I love this card, I think it is hilarious!

2.jpg

First I stamped a whole bunch of candles from the set onto Bazzill Licorice Twist cardstock with Versamark ink. I embossed them with Alabaster white embossing powder and then cut them all out with my Scan N Cut 2. For some extra detail I shaded the flames on the candles with a white Prismacolor pencil.

4.jpg

For the background I taped the Abstract Triangles stencil from Simon Says Stamp over a piece of Bazzill Licorice Twist cardstock. I smooshed my Versamark ink pad over the stencil and then embossed the design with clear embossing powder. I cut the background down to 5 x 5 and blended some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink along the edges.

I popped up the background onto a 5.5 x 5.5 card base with foam tape. I then glued down a layer of the candles along the bottom of the card with Gina K Designs Connect Glue. I popped up a second layer of candles over the first with foam tape. Using some scissors I cut the bottoms of the candles to be flush to the bottom of the stenciled background.

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink onto Bazzil Licorice Twist cardstock and embossed it in white. I then fussy cut the sentiment out and glued it to some vellum. I cut that out so that the sentiment would have a vellum border and then popped it up on the card. To finish up I went over the sentiment with Wink of Stella glitter.
