Halloween Shaker Card - Creepy Cute Stamp Set

Today I made a Halloween card using the Creepy Cute stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

I started out by stamping the cat from the stamp set onto some Neenah solar white card stock. I then colored my little cat in using Copic markers. For the body of the cat I used N2, N4, and N6. For the hate I used V06, Vo9, and V17. For the band on the hat I used YG03 and YG17. After the coloring was finished I fussy cut the cat out with scissors.

Next I used a square die on a piece of A2 size white card stock. I stamped a sentiment from the Creepy Cute set on the bottom of that piece of card stock using my MISTI tool. The sentiment says "It's Meow-lloween!" I stamped it using Simon Says Stamp intense black ink.

I glued a piece of acetate over the square window using my ATG gun. Next I added two layers of foam tape around the window on the back to make my shaker area. I filled the shaker area with a bunch of black sequins and some tiny pewter star sequins. I then covered up the shaker with black card stock. I took the whole shaker panel and adhered it to a card base.

I used my ATG gun and some Gina K Connect glue to adhere my cat image to the card. For the finishing touches I went over the cats nose and eyes with a Micron pen to darken them up. I also used a white gel pen to add some highlights to the cat. I wanted this to be a very clean and simple card design, so with that I called it finished.

I stamped the background pattern using stamps from the Book Work set on some Bristol Smooth paper. I stamped them with Simon Says Stamp fog ink. I also used the heart stamps from the Good Reads stamp set to fill in the white space. I glued a piece of kraft cardstock to an A2 card base and then glued my pattern panel to that. Then I arranged all of my colored in images on that creating a little scene.

I embossed a sentiment from the Good Reads stamp set which says "you're tops in my book." I embossed it on black card stock with a white embossing powder. I popped up the sentiment with some foam tape on the side of my card. Next I took a silver paint marker and added dash lines around the border of the patterned panel.

Using a a few Prismacolor pencils (PC1069 + PC1072) I added some shading under my images to ground my scene. For the finishing touched I went over the sentiment with my Wink of Stella glitter brush. I also added a few clear sequins and went over the glasses on the cat with Glossy Accents.
