Halloween Treat Bags

Hey guys! Today I have a different kind of project to share with you. I am making Halloween treat bags!

4.jpg

To make the top of my treat bags I used the Treat Bag Topper die from My Favorite Things. I cut that out of some Neenah white cardstock and some Simon Says Stamp cardstock in the colors Orange Peel, Apple Green, Lavender, and Royal Purple.

6.jpg

I used the Spider Web background stamp from Simon Says Stamp on all of the toppers with VersaFine Onyx black ink. I used my Misti Tool to make the stamping really quick and easy!

7.jpg

I pulled out the Little Boo Agenda stamp set from Mama Elephant and chose a bunch of the ghosts. I then stamped them onto some Neenah Solar white with Gina K Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink. I colored them ink with my Copics and cut them out with the Scan N Cut.

5.jpg

For the sentiments I picked out a stamp from the My Favorite Things Best Witches stamp set. I stamped that onto black cardstock with Versamark ink and embossed it in white. I then made four more of those sentiments, one for each treat bag.

3.jpg

I cut the sentiments into strips and popped them up on the toppers with foam tape. I also added foam tape behind all of the little ghosts and popped them up.

2.jpg

I added some sequins and embellishments to some of the toppers using Gina K Connect Glue. I also went over all of the sentiments with a Wink of Stella glitter brush.

1.jpg

I filled up some cellophane treat bags (I got mine from Michael’s) with candy corn. I folded the top of the bags down and stapled them shut. I then adhered the toppers to the bags using double sided adhesive tape.

Spinning Unicorn Shaker Card + A Dreamy Distress Oxide Background

Hey guys! Today I am sharing another one of my spinner/shaker cards and this one is dreamy! This card features the Fairy-Tale Friends set from My Favorite Things.

1.jpg

I started with a large piece of Canson Watercolor paper taped to my work surface. I blended onto that with Distress Oxide inks in the colors Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar, Tumbled Glass, and Peacock Feathers. Next I took the Clouds stencil (also from MFTStamps) and I used Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink to blend some subtle clouds across the background. I splatted some clean water onto the background and lifted it with a paper towel. I then splatted some Pearl Aqua Pigment ink onto the panel. I then cut the background down to 6x6.

3.jpg

I stamped the unicorn and rainbow from the Fairy-Tale Friends stamp set onto Neenah white cardstock with Gina K Amalgam ink. I then colored them in with Copic markers and cut them out with the Scan N Cut. I quickly blended a second background to look like the first. I used the nested circle dies from Hero Arts to cut a ring from that background to be my shaker frame. Using that same die set I cut another ring out of a sturdy plastic, two rings out of white cardstock, and a circle out of plastic sheeting to be my shaker window. I glued the window circle to the frame with liquid adhesive.

4.jpg

I blended some colors onto one of the white cardstock rings to roughly match the background colors. I then glued that ring on top of the other white ring to make it a think piece. I glued that ring to the center of the background and then used the inside edge as a guide to place a circle of doubled up foam tape on the panel. I filled that circle with my shaker sequin, placed my plastic ring around the foam tape circle, and then closed up the shaker.

2.jpg

I glued the unicorn to the plastic ring and the rainbow to the center of the shaker window. Next I die cut a bunch of clouds out of vellum and white cardstock and some stars out of white glitter cardstock. I glued all of those to the plastic ring as well. I picked out a sentiment from the set and curved it on my Misti door to fit around the shaker frame. I then stamped it and embossed it with white embossing powder. It would have been easier to do this before assembling the shaker, but I didn’t think that far in advance on this one. For the finishing touches I added some dashed lines with a white gel pen and some glitter to my colored images with a glitter brush.

Best Witches Halloween Card | MFT August Release

Hey crafty peoples! Today I am sharing a card created with some of the products in the My Favorite Things new release. I absolutely love making Halloween cards, so this Best Witches stamp set was right up my alley.

1.jpg

I started by stamping a bunch of the images from the set onto Neenah white cardstock with black ink. I colored in the images with Copic markers and then cut them out. I cut a panel of Bristol Smooth paper to 9 x 4. I blended over the top half of the panel with Distress Oxide ink. I used the colors Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet, and Black Soot.

2.jpg

I free-hand cut some hills out of Bazzill Licorice Twist cardstock and Slate cardstock. Next I used the Eerie Tree die from the new release to die cut a few trees out of the same colors of cardstock. I glued two of the trees to one of the black hills and then glued it to the card. I then glued down the gray colored hill and popped up the gray tree on top of that. I popped up the final black hill with foam tape along the bottom edge.

4.jpg

I arranged all of the images on the panel and glued them down with either liquid adhesive or foam tape. I picked a sentiment out from the set and stamped it onto black cardstock with Versamark ink and then embossed it with white embossing powder. I cut the sentiment into two strips and popped them both up on the card.

3.jpg

For this finishing touches I went over the sentiment strips with a glitter brush and I added highlights to the images with a white gel pen.

Purr-fect Trio of Cats | My Favorite Things

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing another tall card using the Purr-fect stamp set from My Favorite Things.

1.jpg

I started by creating the windowed panel using the oval die from the Magic Color Slider die set from Lawn Fawn. I used Neenah Classic Crest Solar white cardstock for this panel. I then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I stamped the three cat images from the stamp set onto another piece of Neenah with Gina K Jet Black Amalgam ink. I colored them in with Copic markers and then cut them out the my Scan N cut.

2.jpg

Next I created some backgrounds for each other the three cats using some scrap cardstock. The cardstocks I used were Peacock and Green Apple from Simon Says Stamp and In the Navy from Gina K Designs. I used the Diagonal Stripes stencil from Simon Says Stamp and the Mini Staggered Circles stencil from My Favorite Things to blend a pattern onto each of the three backgrounds. The inks that I used from blending are Blue Lagoon, In the Navy, and Wild Dandelion from Gina K.

4.jpg

I added foam tape to the back of the windowed panel and then added each of the three background I made to the three windows. I then adhered the entire panel to a 9x4 card base. I took the three cats that I had colored and glued them to the inside of each of the three windows with Gina K Connect Glue.

3.jpg

To finish the card up I used a white gel pen to add some highlights on each of the cats noses. I also used Glossy Accents on the cat eyes to make them nice and shiny.

Simple Shaker Cards | My Favorite Things

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing some simple shaker cards using the brand new Friendly Foxes stamp set from My Favorite Things. Be sure to check out the rest of My Favorite Things brand new release!

1.jpg

I stamped three of the foxes from the set onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and colored them in with Copics. I cut them out using the coordinating die set.

3.jpg

I blended some backgrounds for my shakers with Distress Oxide ink. I used the colors Shaded Lilac, Seedless Preserves, Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover, Tumbled Glass, and Peacock Feathers. I used two colors on each of the three backgrounds.

6.jpg

I started the background by taking the lighter of the two colors and blending an area big enough for my shaker. I then taped a polka dot stencil from My Favorite Things over the top and blended on that with the darker color. I lifted the stencil and gently added a little bit more of the darker color along the bottom.

4.jpg

To create the front panels I took A2 sizes of Neenah Solar White and cut circles out of each of them with the Hero Arts nested circle die set. I then stamped a different sentiment from the set on each of the three panels with black ink.

7.jpg

I adhered a piece of acetate to the back of each panel and then added doubled up foam tape around the window. I all of the shakers with large clear glitter and closed them up with the background panels.

5.jpg

I adhered my shaker panels to A2 size card bases. I then glued one fox to each of the three shaker windows with Gina K Designs Connect glue.

2.jpg

To finish up the cards I used a white gel pen and added some highlights to each of the foxes.
