Galaxy Hello Card

For today's card I used Distress Ink and my Gansai Tambi watercolors to create a galaxy card.

I started with a piece of Canson watercolor paper taped to a board. I blended Distress ink all over the panel in the colors Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves, and Dusty Concord.

I added splatters of a shimmery white (color #906) paint from the Gansai Tambi watercolors. Then I used a paintbrush and clean water to blend out all of the Distress Ink. I added a few colors of Gansai Tambi paint (#43, #57, #37) to brighten up some of the color. I kept adding splatters inbetween everthing else that I did to the piece.

I used the black (#20) Gansai Tambi paint randomly across the panel. Once that was dry I added some more Distress Ink to really deepen up the color. Finally I added some more splatters and then the galaxy was finished.

I used a Spellbinders die for my hello sentiment and the Hero Art's Friends stamp set for the other sentiment. For the finishing touches on this card I added dashed lines around the galaxy border. I also added half pearls and sequins to the galaxy. Finally I added Wink of Stella glitter to the sentiment strip.

Hero Arts - Trying out My Monthly Hero Kit March 2018

I have been considering buying a kit from Hero Arts for a while now and I finally decided to do it this month. This month's kit just looked too good to pass up. There were so many sentiment stamps and some really great dies! Check out the picture below to see all of the items in the kit.

The best thing about this kit is that it was only $35! Normally all of these items would cost $70. You can buy this kit HERE for a limited time.

I have only made two cards so far with this kit, but it has the potential to become a real staple in my crafting supplies. I can see myself making so many cards with those stamps and dies.

For the one of the cards I used the "Thank" and the "You" dies from the kit.

For the second card I used a few of the sentiment stamps to say, "Hello there, make a wish it's your birthday."

I used Distress Ink to blend the color on the circle for this card. I really love the way these colors blended together. The colors that I used are Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean.

One of the great things about the stamps in the kit is that they can be arranged in so many ways to say lots of different things. I can't wait to make some more cards with this kit!

Using up your scraps to make cards

For these cards I used the scraps from all of the bookmarks that I made for my friend Joey.

They are really simple designs and are all very similar. I think they would work really well in a set together if you like giving friends sets of cards.

These are the kind of designs that you want to use over and over. It is a really easy way to make a lot of cards fast.

Small little adjustments in the design give each card a different feel all while still being a part of the same set.

Another great thing is that you could really use any sentiment you wanted in these designs.

These designs are perfect for using up all of your scraps. I know I have a big bin full of scraps which I should really use more often.

I will probably be making a few more of these later with my scrap bin and a "Thank You" die. I could really use some more thank you cards in my stash!

Soar Galaxy Bookmark

Purple Bookmark.jpg

This is the final bookmark in the series of bookmarks that I made for my friend Joey. I decided to do another galaxy for this one but with lots of purples instead of multiple colors. I really liked the way that this turned out, it is a little sad that I couldn't keep it. Luckily I have half of the galaxy I created leftover so I could make another one for myself if I want to.

<<So I just created this blog so sorry for the lack of photos and information in these first few posts. In the future I hold to write more and take more photos!

I recently started a YouTube channel for all of my crafting and card making and I had the idea a couple of days ago to create a blog to go along with it.>>

This bookmark is part of the series of bookmarks that I created for my friend Joey.

To start this bookmark I used Strathmore bristol watercolor paper and did some ink blending. For the blending I used Tim Holtz blenders, distress inks, and one Stampin' Up ink.

After all the ink dried I used Versamark ink to emboss the hexagonal shapes onto the background.

Using my fuse tool I created a sleeve for the bookmark so that I could turn it into a shaker.
