Floral Thank You Card - Simon's August Card Kit + GIVEAWAY

For today's card I used Simon Says Stamp's August Card kit along with the Folk Dance background die from the Friendly Frolic release.

I started out by stamping the circular floral image onto some Bristol Smooth paper with Simon Says Stamp intense black ink. I then colored the image in using my Arteza Real Brush Pens. For the circle frame I used Dolphin Gray and Elephant Gray. For the flower I used Rouge Pink. The leaves were coloring in with Turtle Green, Fresh Green, and Seafoam Green. Once the image was colored I fussy cut it out with scissors.

Next I used the Folk Dance background die on some white cardstock. I adhered some light gray cardstock to an A2 size card base and then glued the die cut panel onto the gray panel. Then I took the circular piece that I fussy cut out and popped it up on the card with some foam tape.

I used the Bubblegum Blush Nuvo crystal drops from the card kit to fill in some of the circles in the die cut background. The Nuvo drops that came in the kit were just a sample size and I found the bottle a little difficult to work with, but the end results were still beautiful.

To finish up the card I added some silver sequins to the background. I also colored in the flowers in the die cut background using my Wink of Stella glitter brush.

Folk Dance Die Watercolor - Friendly Frolic Release

For today's card I used the Folk Dance background die from the new Simon Says Stamp release "Friendly Frolic." I painted the pattern with my Arteza Real Brush Pens.

I started out by using the Folk Dance background die on a piece of Canson watercolor paper. I was very careful with the paper when I removed it from my Big Shot so that all of the pieces would remain in the negative. I then taped the panel down to a board with painter's tape.

I used my Arteza Real Brush Pens to paint the pattern, using the die cut lines as guides. Instead of using the markers directly on the paper, I scribbled them onto a palette and picked up the color with a brush so that I could add water and get a pretty watercolor look. For the leaves I used Turtle Green, Turquoise, Night Sky Blue, Ash Black, Acid Green, and Crocodile Green. For the flowers I used Bubblegum Pink, Flamingo Pink, and Ash Black. Check out the video for details on that painting process.

I heat embossed a couple of sentiments from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp onto so dark gray cardstock. The larger of the two sentiments I added a vellum border to. I popped up both sentiments with some foam tape. To finish up the card I added gray dots to the white areas in the pattern with an Arteza marker. I also added some silver sequins and some glossy accents to the center of each flower. Finally I used my Wink of Stella glitter brush on the letters of the "Loved" sentiment.
