Cute Little Backpack Cards | Spellbinders Small Die of the Month August 2019

Hey y’all, I hope you are doing well! Today I have some cute back to school cards created with the August 2019 Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Club. This die set was so much fun to use I could just make one card so I made three!

This kit comes with everything you need to make a tiny little backpack, a few sentiments, and some knick-knacks to put inside! Yup, that’s right, you can put things inside the backpack! I highly recommend you give the video above a watch to see exactly how there are put together.

For the first card I used Cotton Candy cardstock from Simon Says Stamp, Neenah white cardstock, rose gold paper, and Really Rainbow patterned paper in order to make the backpack.

The background paper for this card is from the Honey Bee Stamps Over the Rainbow paper pad. I glued that onto an A2 card base and then adhered the backpack onto that.

For the inside of the card I created crayons out of a bunch of different colors of Simon Says Stamp cardstock and a piece of paper out of some Really Rainbow Lawn Fawn patterned paper. The inside sentiment was cut with some of the dies that come in the die kit.

The sentiment on the outside of the backpack comes from the Simple Sentiments No. 1 stamp set. I stamped that with Gina K Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink onto a strip of Neenah white cardstock and then popped it up with foam tape. To finish up this card I went around the edge of the background paper with dashed lines using a white gel pen. I also went over the white parts of the backpack with a glitter brush.

For the next card I used Plum cardstock from Hero Arts, Buttercream cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey, rose gold paper, and Fly and Scrap patterned paper in order to make the backpack. The background patterned paper come from the Really Rainbow paper pack.

The sentiment on this card comes from the Tiny Words Birthday stamp set. I stamped it with black ink onto the Buttercream cardstock.

On this last card I used Gina K Designs In the Navy cardstock, Doodlebug patterned paper, black cardstock, and a holographic silver paper.

On the inside is a notebook made with Over the Rainbow patterned paper, black cardstock, and white cardstock, I also have some glasses made with black cardstock and three crayons made with Lipstick Red, Audrey Blue, and Orange Peel cardstock from Simon Says Stamp.

The sentiment on the outside of the card is the same as the sentiment on the first card. The sentiment on the inside of the backpack comes from the Tiny Words stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. To finish the card I went over the black parts on the backpack with a glitter brush.

These cards were so fun to create and would make awesome back to school cards for any age. I also think they could be used for things like graduation or leaving for college cards and you could stick some money in the pocket.

I found these little backpacks to be a wonderful way to show off some of my favorite patterned paper!
