Fun Back to School Card | Spellbinders August 2019 Large Die of the Month

Hello my friends! Today I have a really fun back to school card design using the new Large Die of the Month club from Spellbinders. This die set lets you create a clipboard, scissors, a pen, a pencil, and a paperclip.

I used the largest die from the set to make my card base out of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. I then cut the paper for the clipboard out of Really Rainbow patterned paper. I cut the metal clip parts of out gold paper. I also cut all the pieces to create two pencils and a paper clip.

I glued together all of the pieces in order to create the clip board. I used a combination of liquid adhesive and foam tape for the clip on the clip board to give it dimension and make it look realistic. I also adhered the paper clip and one of the pencils.

For the first half of the sentiment I used a die from the August Small Die of the Month club. I cut it out of black cardstock and glued it to the paper with Gina K Designs Connect Glue. The second part of the sentiment comes from the Amazing stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped that using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then went over the die cut sentiment with a glaze from Fun Stampers Journey. With the sentiment finished, I glued the second pencil to the card filling up some of the space next to the words.

I took out an A2 size panel of Gina K Designs In The Navy cardstock and glued a strip of Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow cardstock along the bottom edge. I then adhered my clipboard card base on top of that panel. For the final touches on the card I first added a row of Tiny Hearts embellishments under the sentiment. Finally I went over the barrels of the pencils with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen.
