Creating an Alcohol Ink Background | Simon's March Card Kit

Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing a card featuring the stamp set in Simon Says Stamp’s latest card kit!

First I created a background using alcohol inks. I used some Yupo paper and added inks in the colors Purple Twilight, Wild Plum, Sunset Orange, and Sunshine Yellow. I used some 91% Isopropyl Alcohol in order to get the inks really moving and a straw to blow the color around. Once the ink was mostly dry I placed a piece of gold Deco Foil on top and pressed it down to leave behind some gold on the sticky areas.

I cut down my alcohol ink panel and placed it in my Misti. I arranged some of the stamps from the Amazing stamp sent on the panel and then stamped them with Alcohol-Lift Ink. I then used a dry cloth to wipe the panel which really brings out that stamping.

For the sentiment I picked one of the stamps from the set and stamped it with Versamark ink onto a piece of vellum. I embossed it with Gilded embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. I then folded one end of the sentiment over the top of the alcohol ink panel and glued it to the back. I also added some tiny dots of liquid adhesive behind all the letters to glue the sentiment to the front of the panel.

I popped my panel up onto an A2 size card base with foam tape. I added a mix of sequins from the Heaven Sent sequin mix from Lucy’s Cards. I glued the sequins down with Gina K Designs Connect Glue and then my card was finished.
