For today's card I used the Book Work stamp set by Mama Elephant and my Gansai Tambi watercolors.
I started out by stamping a bunch of rows of book onto a piece of Canson watercolor paper with Simon Says Stamp intense black ink. Then I taped the paper to a board to start watercoloring. I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors to paint the books using rainbow colors. I used color number 35, 31, 33, 43, 51, 57, 63, and 38 for the books. You can see find a color chart for my Gansai Tambi watercolors here: Color Chart. Once the books were painted I painted in the space between them with color number 20 and 67. Next I used a Copic Multi-liner and a ruler to draw straight lines under each row of books. I filled in the space between the lines and the books with my black Arteza marker to make it kind of look like the books are sitting on shelves.
I die cut a large circle out of Bristol Smooth paper to do some stamping on. I stamped one of the animals from the Book Worm stamp set in the middle and then also stamped it onto some masking paper. I cut out the mask and placed it on top of the critter in the middle of the circle. Next I stamped two more of the animals from the stamp set on either side of the first animal. These two animals will look like they are slightly behind the first because of the masking.
I colored in the three animals using my Arteza Real Brush Pens. I colored the bunny using the color Ginger. The dog was colored with Bumblebee Yellow and Sunset Yellow. His nose is the same Ginger colors from the bunny. I colored in the little pig using the color Fair Skin. For the books I used the colors Turtle Green, Red, and Violet. The shading on the floor underneath the animals and the dashed lines were done with Dolphin Gray and the wallpaper with Ice Blue. I free handed the lines of the wallpaper so they aren't too straight, but that's okay. This is a handmade card and it doesn't need to be perfect!
For the sentiment I used the Mama Elephant stamp set "Good Reads." I chose the one that says "A great friendship is like a great book. It will stay with you forever." I stamped it with Versamark ink onto some black card stock and heat embossed it with a white embossing powder. I glued my watercolor panel to a card base using my ATG gun. I then popped up the circle piece and the sentiment strip with some foam tape. For finishing touches I added Wink of Stella glitter to the sentiment, Glossy Accents to the glasses, and white gel pen dashed lines around the watercolor background.
