Today is the last day of my alcohol ink series. For this video I focus on how to add foil to alcohol ink backgrounds.
I started out by creating my two alcohol backgrounds. I used rainbow colors for the first one and cool colors for the second one. I laid down a ton of ink on the yupo paper and a lot of alcohol blending solutions. I used a straw to blow on the ink to get it moving around.
Once the ink had dried for about 2 minutes I pressed my foil down on the paper. I used the flat side of my bone folder to really press the foil down. Alcohol ink dries with a lot of sticky areas, and the way this technique works is that the foil sticks to those areas. So when I pull the foil off I get this gorgeous background with the foil spread out throughout the color.
For these first card I used a pewter color foil.
I colored a bunch of flowers to use on all of my cards.
I went over all of the flowers with Wink of Stella and glossy accents.
For the next two cards I used a gold foil.
I really love the sentiments in the stamp set that I used.
I absolutely love this technique! I was so pleased with the way my background came out!
