Distress Oxide Technique (100 Subscribes Small Giveaway)

For today's card I used a new technique with my Distress Oxide inks. Using a craft sheet I pressed the ink pads down on the surface and then sprayed a lot of water until the ink bubbled up. Then I pressed my piece of Canson watercolor paper into the ink.

I did this for a long time, building up lots of layers. I used my heat tool to dry the ink in between layers. It really took quite a few layers to build up to this look.

During the first few layers of this technique I wasn't thinking it was going to come out the was I wanted. It didn't seem to be working the way I was hoping it would. But you really just need to stick with it, because I ended up loving the end result. It just takes time!

The die that I used for the "hug" sentiment is from the March 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit.

I just hit 100 subscribers on my YouTube channel and I am so happy! I am so incredibly grateful to everyone for watching my videos and showing my channel support. I wanted to do something to show my appreciation so I decided to send cards to 5 different people. All you have to do is leave a comment on YouTube on this card's video and on April 23rd I will randomly pick 5 people from the comments to send cards to. I will announce the names selected in my normal Monday video, and I will try to message the people directly. I really wish I could do more, but I hope you would enjoy getting a nice card in the mail! If you want to leave a comment for a chance to get a card there is a link to the video below!
