Heat Embossed Heart Cards | Simon's New Release

Hey crafty friends! I want to share a couple of cards I created with the Ornate Love stamp set from Simon Says Stamp’s new release. The cards are actually both the same, but with different colors. The design is pretty easy to replicate so this is a great card for making sets.

So I started with a piece of 4.25 x 4.25 Bristol Smooth cardstock. I did some Distress Oxide ink blending on this panel. For one of the cards I used the colors Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry. For the other one I used Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, and Dusty Concord. After blending I flicked some water droplets onto the panel with my hand and soaked up the water with a paper towel.

I went over the panel with a powder tool and placed it in my MISTI. I stamped the heart from the Ornate Love stamp set onto the panel with embossing ink. I embossed the heart with Alabaster white embossing powder.

I popped up the Distress Oxide panel onto a 5 x 5 white card base with foam tape.

For the sentiment I stamped the “all you need is” stamp from the set onto black cardstock with embossing ink. I embossed it in white and cut it into a strip. I popped that strip up on the middle of the heart.

Using a T-square ruler and a white gel pen I added a white border around the edge of the Distress ink panel. I filled in the border are with glitter from my Wink of Stella glitter brush. I also with over the sentiment with the Wink of Stella.

To finish up the card I added some clear sequins. I also stamped the word “Love” from the stamp set inside the card with Intense Black ink.
