Spinning Train Shaker Card - Mama Elephant's Little Agenda Trains

Today I created an interactive card using the Little Agenda Trains stamp set from Mama Elephant.

I started out by creating a background with Distress Oxide inks. I was going for a milky way look. I used the colors Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, Faded Jeans, and Black Soot. Once the blending was done I used a paintbrush with clean water to add some soft cloudy areas to the center of the sky. I soaked up the water with a paper towel with pulls up some of the ink. Next I used a small paintbrush to add some stars to the sky with my white Gansai Tambi paint.

I stamped a bunch of the images from the Little Agenda Trains stamp set from Mama Elephant onto some Bristol Smooth paper with Gina K amalgam ink. I colored these in using my Arteza Real Brush pens. Check out the video to see the coloring in detail! Once all of the coloring was done I used my Scan N Cut 2 to fussy cut all of the images.

The creation of the spinner and the shaker on this card is fairly complicated, so I highly recommend watching the video to get a better understanding. First I used my Hero Arts nested circle dies to cut out all of the circles and rings that were needed. On the acetate circle I stamped a sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Scripty Xmas stamp set with Versamark ink. I embossed it with a white embossing powder. Using one of the rings that I created as a guide, I laid down a ring of doubled up foam tape on the sky background. This is going to be the shaker area. Next I placed three of the rings around the foam tape circle. I added some sequins to the shaker area and then closed it up with my circle of acetate. To finish up the spinner/shaker I glued a ring to the acetate to cover up the foam tape.

Using my Gina K Connect glue I adhered all of the images that I colored to the spinner on my card. Next I added some details and highlights with a white gel pen. I added little dots with the gel pen connecting the train cars. To finish up the card I took a sliver paint marker and added some dashed lines around the inner ring.
