Stamping with Distress Oxides - Simon's November Card Kit

For today’s card I used the stamp set from Simon Says Stamp’s November card kit as well as some Distress Oxide inks.

I started out by stamping the leaves from the stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Desert Storm kraft card stock with Distress Oxide inks. I used the colors Aged Mahogany, Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Bundled Sage, and Fossilized Amber. Once that was done I used gold and silver paint markers to add some dots to the empty space between the leaves.

Next I took the really long, beautiful sentiment from the set and stamped it with Versamark ink on vellum. I embossed that with a rose gold embossing powder. I carefully added a tiny amount of adhesive to the corners of the vellum with my ATG gun and glued the sentiment to the background. I used Gina K Connect glue to add brown half pearls to the corners of the vellum.

I used my white gel pen to add some dashed lines around the border of the background. I adhered a piece of dark red card stock to a card base and then glued down my background. The background is slightly smaller than the A2 card base so the red card stock creates a nice border around the leaves panel.

I wanted to keep this card very simple and let the wonderful sentiment play center stage so I kept the embellishments to a minimum.
