Glittery Winter Wonderland - Creating a Scene with Die Cuts

Today I am sharing this sparkly winter wonderland card created using some dies from Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn.

I started out by taking the Trees and Trunks die set from Simon Says Stamp and cutting a whole bunch of the shapes out of Neenah solar white card stock and vellum. I then took some of the tree shapes and blended color onto them. I used Tattered Rose Distress Oxide ink and Simon Says Stamp Fog ink for the blending. I only blended color on a few of the trees, I left most of the die cuts white.

Next I used Silver and Gold markers to add some patterns to some of the trees. Once they were dry I started creating my scene on a piece of Gina K Slate card stock. I glued down the trees to make my winter wonderland scene using a combination of Gina K Connect glue and foam tape. Next it was time to bring on the sparkle! I used a paint brush to add Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer paste to three of the trees. I also went over the vellum tree elements with my Wink of Stella glitter brush.

For the sentiment I heat embossed a stamp from Lawn Fawn’s Holiday Helpers stamp set with silver embossing powder. I stamped that on Neenah solar white and then added a slate card stock border. I cut out a bunch of snowflakes using the Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes die set and added them to my scene. For o few of them I added a pink half pearl to the center.

To finish the card I took the entire piece and glued it to a piece of vellum to give it a border. I then popped that up onto a card base.
