Creating Simple Backgrounds with Gansai Tambi Watercolors

Today I created two cards using Gansai Tambi watercolors, Lawn Fawn dies, and a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

I started out by creating my two watercolor background. For each of them I used Canson watercolor paper taper down to a board. I used purple and blue tones for the first and green and blue tones for the second. Check out the video for all of the painting details!

Once my watercolor backgrounds were dry I used my MISTI tool to stamp a sentiment on each of them. I chose a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp’s Critter Sweaters stamp set. I stamped it with Versamark ink and embossed it with a white embossing powder. I used foam tape to mount the backgrounds onto A2 size card bases.

Next I took Lawn Fawn’s Mini Snowflakes die set and I cut out a bunch of snowflakes from white card stock. I arranged the snowflakes across both cards and glued them down with Gina K Connect glue.

For the finishing touches on the cards I added some clear sequins to the layout. I also added a few white half-pearls to the middle of some of the snowflakes. Finally, I went over the snowflakes with my Wink of Stella glitter brush.
